The Bentley Boys have pulled the virtual sheet on their 2007 Continental GTC convertible. Based on the company's sensuous GT coupe, the new convertible will blow-dry hair all the way up to 195 mph, courtesy its V12 engine. Boasting AWD surety for foul weather (and getting all that power to the ground), the GTC would appear to be a plutocrat's transport of choice for sun-and-snow belters alike. Shame it isn't a folding hardtop.
Autoblog will bring you in-person photographs at the unveiling, but for now, sate your luxury jones with the images after the jump.

i plowed through water with my top down once...not doing that again. of course, i didnt have a bentley, but still...

I could be mistaken, but isn't it the ever popular VW W12 in the new Bentleys not a V12?
WillDaThrill @ Apr 12th 2006 3:16AM
Question is, why do you need a V12 in a luxury car? Not like it's ever going to get used right. Example; you're not going to race anyone cause you're an ate up rich bastard and you're not going to offroad, tow or haul stuff with a Bentley (plus the Bentley is fat).....so why the V12? That engine could have been tweeked and used for something better, like my Altima (rear or 4 wheel powered of course) lol.
Sanjay @ Apr 12th 2006 3:17AM
Its a W12. Nouveau riche of Cheshire rejoice, your Phaeton based convertible is ready! The Continental has got to be the commonest car for new money posers ever. Driving around you're guaranteed to see at least 10 a day, great individuality isn't it?
Chris @ Apr 12th 2006 4:01AM
WillDaThrill, because luxury cars are extremely heavy so the bigger engine allows them to accelerate in a way that isn't embarrassing and allow the car to have a high top speed.
WillDaThrill @ Apr 12th 2006 5:37AM
You got a point there!
GrowUp @ Apr 12th 2006 7:58AM
Why have a W12 in a luxury car? You're kidding, right? Why have cars costing $200,000-$1,000,000 in existence at all?
It's not about rationality. You don't ask how much; you don't ask why.
Steve @ Apr 12th 2006 8:53AM
Sanjay,
Where do you drive around that you see 10 of these a day? We must live in different neighborhoods.
Also, anyone seen driving a Bentley through a puddle that size should have his license revoked and be put in jail.
crazy88since88 @ Apr 12th 2006 11:30AM
Ten a day?!?!?
Easy...I live in jersey & that’s about right. Travel around short hills, north jersey, the mercer county Central Jersey area, ocean twp area & you'll see a gang of them. I see a gang of them ever day & damn near every where i go on jersey, even a few gas station owners have them parked outside, while they pump peoples gas.
Remember these are the VW edition Bentleys...$120-150k, not the RR/Bentleys from the 90's...$240-300K.
I guess that’s why VW is releasing drophead coupe... very reminiscent of the 90's RR/ Bentley coupes. Nice Try VW.
JBFROMMIA @ Apr 12th 2006 11:57AM
You guys can complain all you want but VW has put out one of the hottest luxury cars at a price your low rent CEO and up and coming rapper can afford. Nice Job VW.

Richard Warren @ Apr 12th 2006 4:39PM
"Out of my way little man!"
The best ad ever written for a car, Bentley
And if you comment or question the price, it's obvious you can't afford one
WillDaThrill @ Apr 12th 2006 9:17PM
Spoken like a true rich bastard.
Bambino @ Apr 13th 2006 12:02AM
Hahaha! Ten a day! You made my night! I've only seen one and it was in an auto show; belongs to a local rapper.
"Also, anyone seen driving a Bentley through a puddle that size should have his license revoked and be put in jail."
What are you talking about? That's not a car! That's Bentley's new convertible boat! lol!
